A Versatile Zoom Lens for Mirrorless
An all-in-one 18-300mm lens that zooms from wide-angle to ultra-telephoto
One of the most exciting features of this 18-300mm lens is its 16.6x zoom ratio. It is the first APS-C mirrorless camera lens in the world to achieve this extreme range. Its 18-300mm focal length provides the full-frame equivalent of 27-450mm. From ultra-telephoto photography taking advantage of lens compression, to wide-angle photography that captures vast landscapes, this lens supports many different types of photographic expression. The remarkably compact design weighs just 620g (21.9oz).

Overview
Perfect for Travel
This all-in-one zoom eliminates the need to carry and switch between multiple lenses, making it a perfect travel lens. Its compact and lightweight design enhances portability, while the optics ensure high-quality images across the zoom range. The Vibration Compensation (VC) aids in capturing sharp images in low-light or at extended focal lengths, making it an indispensable tool for capturing the diverse and dynamic moments encountered during travel.
Best-in-class VXD Autofocus that’s Fast and Precise
At 18mm, the lens provides an impressive maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 with an MOD of 0.15m (5.9″”). With an amazing working distance you can get extremely close to your subject. This versatility is ideal for capturing intricate details of small subjects such as insects and flowers, making the TAMRON 18-300mm a powerful tool for everyday photography and specialized close-up work.

Uncompromising Optical Performance Throughout The Entire Zoom Range
The optical construction includes several special lens elements, specifically four LD (Low Dispersion) and three hybrid aspherical lens elements. These elements help to produce clear, sharp images from the center to the corners. Chromatic aberration and other optical aberrations are well corrected. In addition, the BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating suppresses ghosting and flare, which commonly occur in backlit scenes.
Equipped with TAMRON’s proprietary VC
The 18-300mm lens incorporates TAMRON’s proprietary VC mechanism to minimize the effect of camera-shake, which is likely to occur in the telephoto range. It displays its ability to perform when shooting handheld under low-light conditions such as indoor or when shooting at night. It effectively reduces the degradation of picture quality. Using AI technologies, the lens will choose the compensation characteristic for videography at focal lengths of 70mm or less.
Built with Mirrorless in Mind
TAMRON’s new 18-300mm is compatible with many of the advanced features that are specific to mirrorless cameras. This includes: – Fast Hybrid AF – Eye AF – Direct Manual Focus (DMF) – In-camera lens correction (shading, chromatic aberration, distortion) – Camera-based lens unit firmware updates
Lens Tour + Real World Use Circular Aperture
A 7-blade diaphragm is configured to retain a smooth, circular-shaped aperture opening even when stopped down by two stops from the wide-open aperture. This produces a smooth-edged bokeh in background highlights.
BBAR-G2 Coating
TAMRON has long been an innovator of coating technologies that prevent ghosting and flare. Second-generation BBAR-G2 Coating is a groundbreaking advancement that provides vastly improved performance compared to the original BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating. The coating corrects for ghosting and flare to an unprecedented extent and renders fine subject detail with true clarity and stunning contrast even under backlit conditions.
Zoom Lock Switch
The 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC VXD has a switch that can lock the zoom ring at the 18mm focal length if desired. This prevents the unwanted extension of the lens barrel due to the weight of the lens during transportation.
Moisture-Resistant Construction
For greater protection when shooting outdoors, leak-resistant seals throughout the lens barrel help protect your equipment.
Flourine Coating
The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that is water- and oil-repellent. The lens surface is easier to wipe clean and is less vulnerable to the damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints.
