Usage Steps and Important Notes

1. Set the camera to M (Manual) mode and enable the “Lens-Free Release Shutter” function.

2. Lock the lock/unlock ring on the lens, rotate the focus ring on the lens to focus, and take a sample photo.

3. Adjust the shutter speed to obtain good image quality (e.g., 1/250 sec, 1/200 sec, 1/150 sec).

4. The ISO value cannot be displayed (it will display “F00”). The ISO only changes automatically by adjusting the focal length, for example: 420mm/F8.3 → 500mm/F10 → 600mm/F12 → 700mm/F14 → 800mm/F16

Why does my camera display “Lens not installed” or “Unrecognized”?

This is a fully manual focus lens with no electronic contacts. After installation, the camera cannot detect the lens. Please switch the camera to M mode (manual focus mode) to operate it.

Why can’t I press the shutter button after installing the lens?

Usually, switching the camera to M mode (manual focus mode) will solve this problem. For some cameras, you need to enable the “Lens-free shutter release” function in the camera menu for the lens to work properly.

Why are my photos out of focus and very blurry?

Please rotate the focus ring on the front of the lens until the subject is in sharp focus, and then use live view to focus for precise focus. It is recommended to use a tripod and remote control to keep the image stable and avoid blur.

Why doesn’t the camera display the aperture value?

Because this is a fully manual telephoto lens, it does not communicate electronically with the camera body, and its aperture value changes with the focal length. Therefore, the camera body usually cannot display the aperture value.
